“Smash Borders, Respect Boundaries” combines the commitment to sea rescue with the struggles for feminist justice. Women, non-binary and queer people, especially Black people and people of color, are often exposed to multiple forms of violence when fleeing - through border regimes, patriarchal structures and racist exploitation. Sea rescue is feminist because borders are violence and because protection, solidarity and freedom of movement must apply to everyone.
