Your purchase counts: the profits Sea-Watch makes

When you purchase a shirt, a hoodies or any other products from the Sea-Watch onlineshop, you don't only show solidarity with the civile sea rescue - you help directly to fund our work and actions too. To show you, how much money is left after costs and taxes, we demonstrate it with a few examples.

Example T-Shirt: almost 10 Euro go directly to Sea-Watch

Our shirts are Fair Wear certified, are made from organic cotton and the production uses renewable energies.
At the moment you pay 25 Euro for a standard shirt in our onlineshop.
From this retail price we have to pay VAT of 3,99 Euro.
Another 3,75 Euro go to our logistics partner for warehousing and processing your order.
We pay 6,35 Euro for the plain shirt plus print.
The last costs are profit taxes, which is about 1,65 Euro for the shirt example.
In the end there are about 9,26 Euro. This is the amount going directly into the work of the Sea-Watch e.V.

Example Hoodie: 15 Euro profit for our work

Our hoodies are Fair Wear certified, are made from organic cotton and the production uses renewable energies.
In our shop you pay 50 Euro for a hoodie.
We pay 16,80 Euro for the hoodie plus printing.
Next to that we have to pay 7,98 Euro VAT and 7,50 Euro for handling and shipping.
The profit tax is about 2,65 Euro.
So in the end there remain ca. 15 Euro for our work on land, on the ships and in the air.

Example Zip-Hoodie: A lot of love for DNA-Merch and the seamstresses-collaboration

As Shop-Team it is our main goal to gain attention for the civile sea rescue and to fund the work of our activists with the profits of our merch sales.
From time to time we collaborate with individuals, businesses or initiatives, who are a good example for a different way of dealing with each other and a better way in how to handle profits for the common good.
One example for collaborating is DNA-Merch from Berlin http://dnamerch.de/  who purchase their organic cotton from small fabric production owners and who collaborate with independent seamstresses.
Made with dignity - worn with attitude. We think, thats the right way, so we proudly support DNA-Merch, even if the purchasing costs for Sea-Watch are way more and our profit is just 2,50 Euro, when we sell one of their hoodies.
